Brief Question & Answer on Bloodlines

Question:

I did a quick search online for the “Shyanza Breed” and I couldn’t find anything. In the notes under Lady Di it says “The Shyanza group was purchased from a vet and we are carrying on the Shyanza tradition of dogs”. I was hoping that you could explain what that means exactly. Did you purchase all these puppies from the vet and now you are reselling them? I guess I am just a little bit confused.

Answer:

The Shyanza Breed is Bloodline. It is the basic structure of the dog. When you breed two dogs with short legs and then breed the young with a male or female with a lighter weight you have young that are short-legged and weigh less which you can call your bloodline. Breeding out defects and the size and coloration make the Shyanza Breed which took a vet several years to get right. Now their offspring (mom of Sassy the 3^rd) continue the breeding standards which make defect free, good colored, healthy, intelligent, puppies. We own Sassy the 3^rd (mom) and with breeding her and Sir Andre’s genetics we carrying out the tradition and are getting the results desired. This generally takes around 10 generations to get.

Basically if your mom had green hair and you did also and found a wife with green hair you might get a kid with green hair and continue down the line.

The puppies are still genuine Cavaliers; they just have specifics traits bred into them and the quality of care.

Shipping Dogs or Puppies

When shipping several puppies a year it might be easier to use a pet transport company. By dealing with a company that transports puppies for a living you can expect customer service unlike calling AA and never getting the same person twice.

Potty Training Your Puppy

Oh, I forgot to mention, we've had her for 3 days and she fetches and drops, knows her name, comes to snapping our fingers reliably even when she's busy romping something and is mostly leash trained. Now if only the previous owners dogs hadn't marked the middle of the living room. Hard to blame her for that but he had 3 dogs who had problems with the same spot. We just have to keep taking her outside every 2 hours without fail to keep her from having accidents.
My Answer
I really don’t know the correct way to remove 'stubborn' spots. I know there are things like the foggers for kennels and the chemicals but never had anything to do with it.

HOUSEBREAKING YOUR DOG

A simple matter of repetition is needed to house break your dog. After they eat take them out and reward them with praise when the go to the bathroom. I typically start my day by taking my dogs out and 5 minutes might pass but the results are there. I then take them back in and go to work on weekdays and come home at noon and let them out. After a good romp I let them back in and do the same at 4 and 7pm. With a schedule you can house break your dog in a day or two. Of course some dogs are worse than others but its not as hard as people lead it to be.

Cavalier Puppies For Sale

Website Updates

I typically change or add things daily to our website www.dogwoodtrailskennel.com daily to keep everyone informed. When a puppy is sold it will have a sold notice by price or removed entirely.
I have almost completed all the information regarding Cavaliers in the "Cavaliers" page so you can view everything about the breed.
I will hopefully have the Japanese Chin information available soon. At the moment the general info can be checked easily by going to ACK.org or any other reputable website.

All of my information is also backed up by others and I will have a bibliography up also.

Shipping Puppies

We are now preferring ground shipping. The transport service was started by vets and there is a person with them 24/7 with medical training. They leave Mountain Grove, MO 65711 on Mondays and drive in whatever is the fastest route with the puppies that are on board. They will drive to you or at the most 30 minutes drive time away such as an interstate .
Keep it in mind when buying we will still ship by air. We ship by air on Thursdays because it is much easier than trying for the busy days which they can get bumped from.

Cavalier Puppies

We just had a litter of Cavalier Spaniels and they all have great markings. They will be registered AKC and have all the normal guarantee and all the extras. Keep an eye out for pictures.

We offer a health guarantee on each dog unless specified. Please print the agreement on our website or download it (link on top) from the "Health Guarantee" page and send it back signed. Once received the agreement will be copied.

How to Check if they are Sold

We cannot guarantee that a puppy will not be sold in between your email asking and a minute from the reply. We have to go by whoever puts money down first unless otherwise stated. It seems to be the only fair way of doing business since we have so many people asking.
The website usually is updated asap when a puppy is sold but sometimes they are sold during the night and not updated till noon the next day. Always call ahead before placing money down.

Shipping in the Summer Heat. Important!

Flights to smaller airports are getting bumped by the minute so please have an alternate airport in mind. It is a pain in the rear but its totally out of our control.
Cavaliers can fly at 85 degrees max and Chins can fly at 75 degrees max.

There are flights Thursday evenings at times but they are around 60-70 higher.

If it is going to any major airport (such as Miami, LAX, Ect.) there is no need in worrying.

Pink Ice is going to be a very small chin. She currently weighs 1.6 pounds and is super healthy.

Shipping in the USA will remain at 250.00. All schedules will be made directly after payments for flying your puppy to you.
Common questions on shipping;
Q. Why is it so high?
A. Shipping charges always cost us more than the 250 dollar charge. Take the flight (200+), crate (20-30), Gas to Airport (2 hours), Health Certificate, along with lost wages taking the trip. That is just the basics.
Q. When will I get the flight info?
A. The flight info will come back to us a week before the flight at the very earliest. Usually Friday but on hot or extreme cold temps it can be the Monday or Tuesday before.
Q. What days do you ship?
A. We ship on Thursdays.
Q. When can I get my puppy?
A. They have to be 56 days old before shipping.
